Functional Costuming

In this performance, the object becomes a character. What do we do with things that are left behind by those we love? I wanted to converse with this piece in unexpected ways while suspended in the air. By combining my professional knowledge of aerial rigging with a desire to create a striking  illusion, I designed a costume shirt to safely hang from. I enjoyed creating this small piece of magic to the benefit of the tension in the audience. (But don't try this at home!)
